AutoCheck Element¶
Adding the element is done by dragging or selecting the AutoCheck element into your page builder's content:

Then add any text or images into the editor that you want linked to the report. When the user clicks the content, the AutoCheck report will open in a new tab.
Text/Image¶
The element has a single setting: a rich text editor holding the content to be linked. Whatever you put there becomes the clickable link.
Common choices:
- The official AutoCheck logo, supplied by AutoCheck for dealer use.
- A plain text link such as View the AutoCheck Report.
- A styled button built from text plus an icon.
The element wraps your content in the link and nothing else — no styling of its own — so it inherits your template's typography and sits wherever you place it.
Where to place it¶
The element is available in the VDP and SRI (Search Result Item) categories.
- On a VDP template, it sits alongside the vehicle's other details, which is where most buyers look for a history report.
- On an SRI template, it appears on each search result row. Useful if you want history access before the click-through, though it makes each row taller.
A listing must be in context for the element to render, so it can't be used on a general content page.
Shortcode¶
The element is registered with DMS as dms_autocheck_badge, with the linked content passed as the shortcode's inner content:
What the visitor gets¶
Clicking opens a new tab at the listing's own URL with a report parameter attached. DMS intercepts that request, fetches the report from AutoCheck using the listing's VIN, and returns it.
The report is served as AutoCheck delivers it — your theme's header, footer, and styling are not applied. That page is AutoCheck's document, not a page on your site that you can style or edit.
