Troubleshooting¶
The WooCommerce Connector settings tab is missing¶
WooCommerce isn't active. The extension checks for it on load and registers nothing without it — no settings, no products, no element.
Activate WooCommerce, then reload. Also confirm this extension is active in DMS → Extensions and that your license is Standard or higher.
The Add to Cart element renders nothing¶
The listing has no product yet. That's expected for:
- Inventory that existed before setup. Run a Product Scan.
- Drafts. Products are only created for published listings — publish it.
Otherwise, save the listing again; a save on a published listing recreates a missing product.
The price shown is wrong¶
It's showing the deposit, not the vehicle price — that's by design, since the deposit is what's charged online.
If the deposit itself is wrong:
- Check Deposit Type and its amount on the listing type. Settings are per type; check the one this listing belongs to.
- Re-run a Product Scan. Changing the deposit doesn't reprice existing products until each listing is saved or scanned.
- For percentage deposits, check the listing has a price. No price means nothing to take a percentage of.
Products aren't updating when I edit a listing¶
Only published listings sync. A listing in draft or pending review won't update its product.
If a published listing still isn't syncing, check whether another plugin is short-circuiting the save, then force it with dms_woocommerce_deposit_sync() — see Developer Reference.
A renamed listing kept its old product name¶
Fixed in 1.1.1 — product titles now follow the listing. Update, then save the listing or run a Product Scan to bring existing products in line.
If titles still don't follow after updating, check whether a filter on dms_woocommerce_product_args is overriding title.
My manual edits to a product keep reverting¶
Generated products are rewritten from their listing on every sync, so hand edits in WooCommerce last only until the listing is next saved or scanned.
Change the listing instead, or override the value with the product args filter.
The scan stops partway¶
It runs in batches and needs the page to stay open. Navigating away, closing the tab, or letting the machine sleep stops it.
Progress is saved — start it again and it resumes from where it stopped rather than restarting.
If it reports an error immediately, check that you have published inventory: with no listing types, or no published listings, the scan has nothing to do and says so.
Vehicles are showing up in my shop pages¶
Generated products are published and catalog-visible, grouped under a product category named after the listing type.
To keep them out of your shop, exclude that category from your shop and store search in WooCommerce or your theme settings. Don't unpublish the products — the Add to Cart button needs them purchasable.
Everything shows as out of stock¶
Almost always the Quantity Category pointing at a category that doesn't hold a number. Non-numeric values read as zero, which marks the product out of stock.
Either point it at a genuine quantity category, or clear the setting — unset means every product is stocked at 1, which is what you want for one-off vehicles.
Stock isn't reducing after a sale¶
- Check Reduce Quantity is enabled on the listing type.
- Check the order reached Completed. Reduction happens at Completed, not when the order is placed or paid. Orders left in Processing haven't reduced anything.
- Check a Quantity Category is set. Without one there's no value to reduce.
Note that a refunded or cancelled order does not restore the quantity — that has to be corrected on the listing.
A customer landed on a bare product page¶
Product URLs redirect to their listing, so this shouldn't happen for generated products.
If it does, the product has lost its link to the listing — usually from being duplicated or imported. Delete the product and re-run a scan to regenerate it cleanly.
Payment fails at checkout¶
Checkout is entirely WooCommerce's. Test with a normal WooCommerce product to confirm whether the problem involves this extension at all — if that fails too, it's a gateway configuration issue under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments.
Cart messages appear in an odd place¶
WooCommerce notices are rendered at the top of the listing as DMS alerts, since customers stay on listing pages rather than visiting product pages.
If they're not appearing at all, your listing template may be missing the hook that outputs them — check whether a heavily customised template still calls the standard DMS listing wrapper.
