Setup¶
There is one setting, and the extension does nothing visible until you fill it in.
Go to Dealer.ms → Settings, then the Logged-in Pricing tab.
Logged Out Pricing Text¶
A rich text editor holding what signed-out visitors see in place of every price.
Because it's a full editor rather than a plain text field, the replacement doesn't have to be a sentence — you can style it, and you can include a link:
| Approach | Example |
|---|---|
| Plain prompt | Sign in to see pricing |
| Call to action with a link | Log in or register to view our pricing |
| Styled to look like a price | Bold text at the same size as your price element, so the layout doesn't shift |
A few things worth knowing when writing it:
- It appears everywhere a price would. The same text shows on the listing page, in search results, in comparison tables, and in the scroller — so keep it short enough to work in a narrow search-result card, not just on a full-width detail page.
- Length affects layout. A long sentence where a short price used to be can wrap and push a card taller. Check a search results page after saving, not just a listing.
- Leaving it empty hides the price with nothing in its place. That's a valid choice if your template already handles the gap, but usually looks like a bug to visitors.
Verifying it¶
The quickest check is a private or incognito window — you'll be signed out there while staying logged in normally elsewhere.
Load a listing detail page and a search results page. Signed out, both should show your text; signed in, both should show real prices.
The 'was' price is not hidden
If your listings use a strike-through original price alongside the current one, that original figure is still shown to signed-out visitors. Only the main price is replaced.
Where that matters, avoid setting original prices on listings, or hide the element on your template.
